UPDATED 21 December 2020
We are committed to making the Barn a clean and safe facility. We require your commitment to each other as facility users - we are in this together. We adhere to the latest government guidelines and require you to do the same. We kindly ask all users to please follow these guidelines.
To help with numbers we ask members to book their gym and classes in advance using the Barn app or the members area. This also allows us to know exactly who is in the gym and control capacity. Government guidelines are 1 person per 100 sq ft. Our gym is 3,337 sq ft so that would allow us 33 but we are keeping it to just 20 members. The studio is 2,583 sq ft so would allow us 25 but we are keeping it at 18.
The maximum numbers in the gym (including the shed) is 20 members but no more than 8 people in the shed or 6 people in the functional training area at any one time.
Please respect staff, other users and maintain social distancing.
Members must check-in when they arrive. We have a check-in station in the gym and studio so for classes just enter straight in to the studio. Members will also be asked to scan the test and trace QR code using your NHS Covid-19 app.
Please wash your hands with soap or sanitiser before, during and after your workout. We have supplied paper towels to dry your hands after washing. Please place used towels in the bins provided.
We have reviewed and enhanced our cleaning measures and are using PHE approved cleaning products to ensure we are doing as much as we can to keep you safe.
For static classes you will need to stay in your 2x2m marked square. We have 3m floor markers for movement classes. There will be an antiviral spray bottle for each participant and we ask members to clean your space and equipment and leave it in your square at the end of the class.
We have at least 15 minutes gap between each class to allow the previous class attendees to clean their equipment and leave the studio. It's also for us to get ready for the next class. Please do not enter the studio until the instructor has said it is ok to do so.
Classes have been adapted to ensure no equipment sharing, no station hopping and side ways movements are kept to a minimum.
For your gym session collect your antiviral spray bottle from reception after checking-in, to spray and wipe down all equipment you use. Place the spray bottle in the drop box on the way out.
There are some smaller items of gym equipment that have been taken out of action for hygiene reasons (e.g. yoga cushions, mats and bands). We have a small selection of mats, bands and skipping ropes for you to use but you must ask a member of the team if you need to borrow one. There is a drop box for you to return these items so we can ensure they are thoroughly cleaned before being re-used.
Can all members please bring their own towel, drinks bottle and ideally a mat to the gym or class workout. When filling your drinks bottle we ask you remove your lid and use the bottle to press the nozzle. Do not use your hands.
There will be limited changing and showers available so we request members to come ready changed if possible.
We will whenever possible keep doors and windows open to allow fresh air into the club.
Please follow the simple rules we have implemented to enter and leave the gym, studio and outdoor spaces.
We cannot allow spotting or equipment sharing unless you are from the same household.
Can you please follow government guidelines regarding movement in and out of tiers.
Face coverings are NOT mandatory.
If you are unwell, have any Covid-19 symptoms or have returned from a country that requires an isolation period on return please do not come to the club until you are clear to do so.
Let's get going again, keeping FIT, having FUN and being HEALTHY but let's do it in a SENSIBLE, RESPECTFUL and THOUGHTFUL way : WASH your hands, WIPE your equipment and WEAR a smile!
