UPDATED 9 April 2021
We are committed to making the Barn a clean and safe facility. We require your commitment to each other as facility users - we are in this together. We adhere to the latest government guidelines and require you to do the same. We kindly ask all users to please follow these guidelines.
The reopening Roadmap is as follows:
29 March - 1:1 Personal Training can resume in the outdoor Shed.
12 April - Gym reopens and Square FiiT starts.
17 May - Indoor and outdoor classes return.
21 June - Restrictions ease with no legal limit on social contact.
Until 21 June the following guidance will be in place:
To help with numbers we ask members to book their gym and classes in advance using the Barn app or the members area. This also allows us to know exactly who is in the gym and control capacity. We will have a maximum of 20 members in the gym and 18 in the studio. These numbers are under the government guidelines and we will continually monitor increasing capacity as restrictions ease.
The maximum numbers in the gym (including the shed) is 20 members but no more than 6 people in the shed or 6 people in the functional training area at any one time.
The gym has a new layout to ensure plenty of distance between all machines.
Please respect staff, other users and maintain social distancing.
You are not expected to wear a face covering whilst taking part in physical activity. All forms of face coverings may restrict breathing efficiency and should not be used during exercise except on specific advice from a physician. We don't have any enclosed areas such as corridors or reception, we are a large open well ventilated space so you are not required to wear a face covering while entering or moving around the facility. However, if you would prefer to that is perfectly ok and your choice to do so.
Members must check-in when they arrive. We have a check-in station in the gym and studio, so for classes and Square FiiT, just enter straight in to the studio. There is also the test and trace QR code displayed in the gym and studio for you to scan using your NHS Covid-19 app.
Please wash your hands with soap or sanitiser before, during and after your workout. We have supplied paper towels to dry your hands after washing. Please place used towels in the bins provided.
We have reviewed and enhanced our cleaning measures and are using PHE approved cleaning products to ensure we are doing as much as we can to keep you safe.
The studio has been marked out with floor markers for classes. There will be an antiviral spray bottle for each participant to collect when checking-in and we ask members to clean your space and equipment and leave it in your square at the end of the class. Place your spray bottle in the drop box on the way out.
We have at least 15 minutes gap between each class to allow the previous class attendees to clean their equipment and leave the studio. It's also for us to get ready for the next class. Please do not enter the studio until the instructor has said it is ok to do so.
Classes have been adapted to ensure no equipment sharing, no station hopping and side ways movements are kept to a minimum.
For your gym session collect your antiviral spray bottle from reception after checking-in, to spray and wipe down all equipment you use. Place the spray bottle in the drop box on the way out.
If you use some smaller items of gym equipment such as bands, rollers and skipping ropes please place these in the drop box after use so we can ensure they are thoroughly cleaned before being re-used.
Can all members please bring their own towel, drinks bottle and ideally a mat to the gym or class workout. When filling your drinks bottle we ask you remove your lid and use the bottle to press the nozzle. Do not use your hands.
There will be limited changing and showers available so we request members to come workout ready if possible.
We will whenever possible keep doors and windows open to allow fresh air into the club.
Please follow the simple rules we have implemented to enter and leave the gym and studio.
We cannot allow training together, spotting or equipment sharing unless you are from the same household.
If you are unwell, have any Covid-19 symptoms or have returned from a country that requires an isolation period on return please do not come to the club until you are clear to do so.
Let's get going again, keeping FIT, having FUN and being HEALTHY but let's do it in a SENSIBLE, RESPECTFUL and THOUGHTFUL way : WASH your hands, WIPE your equipment and WEAR a smile!
On the weekend of 9th & 10th October we will once again be 24 hour fitness people.
This year we will be raising money for Zac's Fund.
Put the date in your diary and we'll post more details very soon.
